How many times a day do you hear this… “I’m Hungry!” or “There is Nothing to Eat!” and then at the end of the week you are throwing away food!
One of my biggest pet peeves is having to toss food and one of the most thrown away things in our house is leftovers and it drives… me… crazy.
Do you want to know what I hear as I am throwing leftovers away? “I forgot that was in there!” “Oh I would have eaten that casserole if I knew it was in there” etc.
Unlike me, the people in my house don’t actually move things around when they look for something.
Standing in front of the fridge with the door open ends with them either grabbing the first thing they see or shutting the fridge door and declaring their intense feelings of hunger.
When I finally came up with a solution I was so excited to try it out and now I want to share it with you!
Start by printing off one of my “Are You Hungry?” designs. There are two to choose from. Just sign up below and I will immediately send them both to your email.
There are several ways you can do this
- Simply print them out and use pencil to write and erase. You will need to print out a fresh copy every so often.
- If you have access to a laminating machine you can laminate your printable, hang it on your fridge, and use a dry erase marker.
- You can buy a cheap frame and attach some magnets to the back. Hang it on your fridge and use a dry erase marker. This is what I did. I used a regular glass frame that I found for a dollar because I couldn’t find a plastic one, however I did order plastic on Amazon and am now waiting for it to come in 🙂
This took me less than 5 minutes and just a few dollars (for the frame and magnets) and it’s saving me a ton in food costs!
*Tip – If you go with the frame like I did you will need an 8.5 X 11 because that is standard print size, however if you pick up your standard 8 X 10 frame size just trim your printable; I created it so it can be trimmed and still look great!
